I have used WD External drives for many years and they never fail. Easy to use, comes in a variety of colors. I have tried other drives and they do not hold up to this product.

This drive was used for backup storage so rarely used. I have 3 of these drives and 1 is starting to show issues like not being recognized unless the PC is rebooted. Was a great drive but I can't afford to lose data like this or else what is the point. Good when working but makes me nervous.

This is my second of these and I have been satisfied with both. While the portability is less important to me since I use it about 95% of the time with my desktop, I like being able, on those few occasions, to be able to bring whatever I am working on with me on one of my other devices, or to share...

Used this drive as a replacement drive for my failed 2008 WD MyBook 1Mb HDD; 14 years was not a bad ride. I did have to go to Apple Support Discussions to get the latest "how to" of recommended set-up. I recommend doing just that. DO NOT USE WD SOFTWARE. Photo: Red Drive is the Time Machine Backup.

Formatted the drive for Linux and using it as the backup device for a Ubuntu 20.04 machine. It performs well and is fast. There is ample space on the drive to hold all of my daily backups. It also contains an image copy of the machine. I recommend this device as an excellent backup drive.

I brought this hard drive for my Mac backup. It is a very slow process, takes about 2 hours. This disk gets extremely hot while updating. I will not use this again for updating. Another point is that it gets very loud in the middle of the updating process. I will not recommend this for Mac.

You can never go wrong with WD. Sleek, compact, value for money. comes with transfer cable. The drive was formatted to Windows OS but with a quick format, was able to use it on my mac. Would recommend for sure
