I loved the comfort of these shoes but am frankly shocked at how poorly they were constructed. I've had them for exactly one year and use them strictly for walking maybe once or twice a week, never exercise or running and never hikes or long distance walks, and they have started to completely fall...

I have been wearing Cliftons since version 6 and have multiple pairs of each version. I was excited to try to the new Clifton 9s as I felt the Clifton 8s lacked a little bit of durability/longevity compared to the older versions. My biggest issue with Clifton 9s is the plush cushion.

My partner and I are in love, but we have struggled with one existential dispute: I have long legs and walk extremely quickly, reveling in the feeling of speeding by strangers on the sidewalk, while she tends to amble, meander, trudge, plod, and tramp.

The Clifton has long been a crowd-pleaser, and I do not expect that to change with version 9. With some small tweaks, HOKA has designed the latest version to be lighter, softer, and more energetic, which are all positive things.

Beautiful. My husband loves it and gets compliments constantly. Works in both formal and informal settings.

I am baffled as to why Hoka would change the fundamental profile of the Clifton. I have been wearing Cliftons exclusivelyfor years, becausethe combo of "Neutral" and "Balanced" works perfectly for me (and probably many of its fans). Now, the cushioning is "Plush".

Poorly constructed tread. The rubber parts on the sole added as tread to bottom of squishy part tend to wear out rapidly, and dont stay glued to bottom. Have had to reattach the tread pieces with gorilla glue flexible glue multiple times. Comfy shoes but below average quality.

When my nurse colleagues raved about these shoes I was a bit skeptical, but after a 12 hour shift on my feet in these I was feeling no back pain! I highly recommend these to anyone that is on their feet all day. They are truly this old nurse's dream come true!

This is my first pair of Hoka. I am 47 and have arthritis, bone spurs, plantar fasciitis etc.. It is very hard for me to find comfortable shoes. These were amazing from the start. I have now worn them 3 times. Not only do my feet not hurt while wearing them, my knee pain is also reduced.

I really liked the support Clifton provided, but it's definitely not a keeper as the sole started to wear off may after 50 miles of walk, and was in tatters after about 200 miles. If not for questionable quality it would have been a winner. This was my first Hoka, going back to trusted Brooks.
