How Long Does it Take to Complete? On average, it takes individuals 3-5 hours per week for 15 weeks to complete the Spanish for Nurses course. What Level of Spanish is Needed to Take the Course? The course has been created for currently active Nurses as well as those studying to be nurses with little to no knowledge of Spanish. However, individuals who have taken a year or two of Spanish in High School or College will still greatly benefit from the course. How Many Words and Phrases Will I Learn? There are over 350 words and phrases that are contained in the following sections of the medical Spanish for Nurses course. The online lessons (that come free with the purchase of the course) prepare you for the national certification exam. Although the online lessons are free. However, there is a national certification exam that costs $125. There are many modern language-learning theories and research used to help you learn faster. The author studied these theories and brain science, as it applies to learning, during his Master's degree in Language Pedagogy and throughout his career as Director of the U.S. Institute of Languages. This course teaches nurses how to negotiate a conversation. In other words, (s)he can learn to work through virtually any situation in a relatively short period of time. The course teaches nurses how to use what they've learned in the book in combination with technology to provide a better patient experience.
