Kyle Poling began taking art lessons in kindergarten. He won various local and national art competitions in high school and graduated from Columbus College of Art and Design. Kyle was then hired by American Greetings in Cleveland, where he specialized in Juvenile and Humor card illustrations. Prior to being a children's book author, she wrote for several newspapers and magazines, including The Christian Science Monitor, The Kansas City Star, and Missouri Lawyers Weekly.
