Luciano Aronne De Abreu is Full Professor of the Post-Graduate Programme in History at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul, and Chief Editor of the PUCRS University Publishers. His main research areas are authoritarianism and corporatism during the New State of Get'ulio Vargas. Luis Carlos dos Passos Martins is an assistant professor of Modern History at the Universidade Catolica do Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. His main research areas are the debates on development during the second Vargas Government (1951-1954). Geandra Denardi Munareto has a Masters degree in History and recently completed her Ph.D. at Pontificia Universidade Catolica do Grande do Sul.
