We all know the rhyme.

Sticks and stones may break my bones,

but words will never hurt me.

Except that's a lie.

Because his words didn't just hurt me,

they broke my heart.

A heart that has only ever beat for him.

Shattering me.

But after one moment stuck in an elevator together,

his walls come down and buried feelings crawl to the surface to play.

And play, we do.

So I forgive him.

It's hard not to when he's been the only man I've ever loved.

The only man able to give me what I need.
