Now with teaching remote it’s totally vital to have a cable-secure internet connection. Wifi just isn’t reliable enough. I’ve had it for only a week. I’m sure it will perform fine and for a long while. My only gripe is the high price, as will all the Apple accessories.

My home WiFi speed was killing me (plaster walls=blocked or slowed signal strength going to one office space) when working on my laptop, so ran a longer Ethernet cord to my office and bought adapter so I could not only have faster connection for my desktop but my laptop as well. Works perfectly!

I recently upgraded from a generic USB adapter to this Thunderbolt 2 and it is a difference that you can notice. Very good Value for money. I have better connection now and my work is easier as i work from home. I also play on my macbook so this provides an advantage vs playing over Wi-Fi.

Works fine. Simple design that does what it is supposed to do and is just what I needed. Recommended - if you need this, get this.

My recent MacBook pro does not have an Ethernet port, so I was relying on mu home wireless network. It was less than perfect. The Thunderbolt to Ethernet adapter has resulted in a MUCH more stable and faster connection to the internet.

I used a USB-to-Ethernet adapter on my MacBook Air for years. When I upgraded to fiber-optic recently, my Internet speed stayed slow on the Air. Changing to Thunderbolt allowed me to increase the speed of my MacBook Air for online work to over 400 Mbs.

The Ethernet port on my 2011 iMac went out and this was the perfect fit in the thunderbolt port for direct connection to my router. Restarting the iMac after connection was required.

This works as expected, but for the same price you can get a USB hub with ethernet. I had bought this but then I needed to use my 2 only mini display ports for monitors that could not be daisy chained. I wish Apple would make this more useful with more ports or something.

This adapter allows me to use a faster ethernet connection when I have "heavy lifting" to do .. uploads or downloads with lots of gigs typical of longer video productions. It saves me time to use the wired connection instead of the WiFi.

Now able to get high speed internet on the old MacBook!
