Her research interests include Urban Anthropology, including Latino Immigration to the US, and Medical Anthropology, particularly Nursing Practice. Nancy Foner is Distinguished Professor of Sociology at Hunter College and the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. Her main area of interest is immigration, particularly comparing immigration today with earlier periods in the United States, the immigrant experience in various American gateway cities, and immigrants in the United States and Europe. She is the author or editor of eighteen books.
