At the start of her divorce, Meredith Hawkins began writing to cope with her feelings of heartache and loss, not knowing at the time where it would lead. Her subsequent journey would prove to be one of introspection and healing. In When the Tears Dry, Hawkins weaves her personal trials into a powerful narrative of the unfiltered stories and life struggles she witnessed while serving the unhoused on the streets of Arizona and Africa. Far from playing the victim, Hawkins relates the many lessons she learned from her career in social work to illustrate how to get up, dust yourself off, and carry on. Both raw and uplifting, Hawkins' empowering memoir shows us how to live, love and laugh again.
