The poems in this collection explore the ways the stories we have been told - particularly the stories that underpin and inform our spirituality - can be retold, reimagined, and reworked in light of the experience of women in the twenty-first century. This collection focuses on stories passed down through generations, the rich and varied ways we confront death, and our attempts to reach out into the knotted-up mess of relationships and preconceptions to find what is actually true. Truth needs to be felt, spoken, and shared.

Mallory Nygard lives and writes in East Tennessee. This is her second collection of poetry. Her poetry has been published in Relief: A Journal of Art and Faith, Ekstasis, Amethyst Review, Agape Review, Earth and Altar Magazine, and North Dakota Quarterly.
