The author, Lindsay Leatherdale, a 20 year old neuro-science and psychology under graduate, with a special interest in dementia, has a grandmother who was diagnosed with sundown and vascular dementia. Her friend's mum was diagnosed with Lewy Body dementia. She wanted to help caring for her grandmother and decided to buy some books about sundown, vascular and lewy body dementia. To her disappointment there was a lack of good informative books available on the three types of dementia.
