Maria Teresa H. de Holcomb, PhD, was born in Mexico. She holds advanced degrees from universities in Mexico and the United States and has spent twenty-six years teaching college-level Spanish and Spanish literature.

After a course in immigration at Yale University, de Holcomb became aware of the many problems facing immigrants, particularly immigrant women. She has since dedicated her time to helping women, especially immigrant women, achieve their dreams.

De Holcomb's own research and background help her recreate the Latin American experience in her plays and prose. She is the author of Not from Here, Not from There, Shadow Enemies, Revenge or Forgiveness, and In Time, Malinche, in Time, among other works.
