The authors have felt the need for a book like this for so many years in their own work that they created one themselves! In their careers, Heather and Emily have helped many families understand and come to accept the value of organ donation. They hope their book will help families in need, especially children, who are struggling to understand and accept their new normal.

Emily Alley, CCLS is a born and raised FL girl. She went to Florida State University, where she got her degree in Human Sciences, GO NOLES! She is married to her husband Taylor and has boy, girl twins who take up most of her time and all of her heart. Emily's passion for working with children and families has always been present. Through her work as a Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) over the course of 10 years and currently working with families at a local organ procurement organization as a Family Support Coordinator, she has combined her skills to create this children's book in collaboration with Heather. Emily is thankful for the support of her family and the guidance of God and those who have helped educate her throughout her journey to gain the knowledge necessary to help others. Nancy Bruno, a Florida based artist who recently moved to Pine Grove, California has always been fascinated by the power of memories to engender specific thoughts and feelings long after a moment has passed. She has always said that the one thing you cannot recreate is an exact moment in time. But, in the service of trying to capture those moments and experience for others.Hamilton
Hawke, Heather: - Heather Hamilton-Hawke, CCLS was born and raised in a small farming community in southwest Nebraska. Gifted with sincere compassion for others, she has worked with children for decades, guiding them through difficult challenges and making a lasting impact on their lives. Heather practices as a Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) for over 19 years, both in and out of the hospital clinical setting. Her desire to help others, coupled with her dedication to the children and families she serves, led her to her current career as a Family Services Counselor. In this role, Heather has worked with multiple organ procurement organizations throughout the United States, supporting families though devastating grief and tragedy. Her extensive work experience and innate ability to connect with others though the life-saving process of organ donation has provided her with the opportunity to write her first book. Heather currently created and owns 3H Consulting, an LLC that provides support and education to families going though the grief process. Heather currently resides in Omaha, Nebraska with her husband, Shon, two stepdaughters and their mini-aussie, Doochi. In her spare time, she enjoys the Colorado mountains, and visiting Florida beaches with her friends and family.
