Richard Price is the author of twelve books, including an earlier work on the Saramaka people, the award-winning First Time: The Historical Vision of an Afro-American People. He is coeditor, with Sally Price, of John Gabriel Steadman's Narrative of a Five Year Expedition against the Revolted Negroes of Surinam.
