On such an occasion a lone hyena secretly witnessed from the tall brown brush of the Serengeti, a lone, frightened and skinny young Maasai boy struggling with fear and self doubt, face the terror of the Serengeti. The young Maasai boy will determine if he will be prey or predator!

Vastine East story telling was inspired by his late mother Fern's nightly story telling when he was a boy. He studied at the Institute of Children's Literature. He was inspired to publish "Maasai Man" as an illustrated children book from the encouraging of the Institute of Children's Literature instructor, Virginia Castleman and later followed by three exhilarating dream fulfilled visits to Africa. He lives in Houston, Texas with his wife Yvette M. East. Special thanks go to Lorena Birk for the breathtaking illustrations.
