Jr. (El Junior) and his grandmother (Abuelita), embark on a harrowing adventure - when they attempt to deliver fresh, home-made flour tortillas to Jr.'s mother.They must cross an ice-covered mountain in the middle of a snow storm, when disaster strikes. Abuelita is forced to make a decision that could be fatal! This is an original story that has elements of Fantasy and Latino Folklore. The Llorona story originated in Mexico (Aztec times, pre-Colombian) and was spread by Spanish and Native people throughout the Americas.From a very early age, Latino and Native children, are warned about being out by themselves when the the sun goes down. The Llorona is out there - looking, searching, for her children! She can't find them, so she will take you instead.Through a jealous rage her own children drowned in a river. Acerca del Autor
Eugene Longoria Jr. is currently a Spanish and computer technology teacher for the Maricopa Unified School District in Maricopa, Arizona. He has been in the education field since 1995. He is a Washington State University graduate with a major in Foreign Languages Arts and Literature and a minor in Communications: television radio production and broadcasting. Eugene acquired his teaching certification in the form of a Post-Baccalaureate degree at the University of Arizona. He has a Master degree in Education with an empathizes on Education Leadership. Mr. Longoria has taught Spanish, Language Arts, History, Yearbook, Journalism, Computer Technology, been a football coach, ninth grade Career and Technology counselor as well as a Dean of Students and an Assistant Principal.
