Although it is among the smallest of Georgia's Golden Isles, Jekyll Island boasts a depth of history rivaling that of its larger neighbors. The island embraces two National Historic Landmarks, a listing reserved for the nation's most significant treasures. More than fifty archaeological sites have been excavated on Jekyll; others remain unexplored, including an Indian burial mound discovered recently on the grounds of a beachfront motel.

JINGLE DAVIS was a retired journalist who worked for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution for over twenty years, often covering South Georgia and the coast. She is the author of Island Time: An Illustrated History of St. Simons Island, Georgia and Island Passages: An Illustrated History of Jekyll Island, Georgia (both Georgia).

Galland, Benjamin

BENJAMIN GALLAND, born and raised on St. Simons Island, is a photographer and partner with the h2o Creative Group in Brunswick and the photographer for Jingle Davis's Island Time: An Illustrated History of St. Simons Island, Georgia and Island Passages: An Illustrated History of Jekyll Island, Georgia as well as Buddy Sullivan's Sapelo: People and Place on a Georgia Sea Island (all Georgia).

McCash, June Hall

JUNE HALL McCASH is the author, coauthor, or editor of fourteen books (five historical novels, eight nonfiction works, and one book of poetry) as well as numerous articles and is the recipient of an outstanding alumna award for distinguished career from Agnes Scott College. A fellow of the National Endowment for the Humanities and the American Council of Education, she recently completed a nine-year term as a trustee of the Jekyll Island Foundation and currently serves on the Foundation's advisory board. She is the author of The Jekyll Island Cottage Colony and coauthor of The Jekyll Island Club (both Georgia) and was named a Georgia Author of the Year in 2011 and 2013.
