Descripción
The large conflict of the Basque country for its liberation began in 1959 with the formation of the nationalist and separatist organization ETA. The group was founded in 1959 as a consequence of the reprisals taken against their land by Franco's government. The novel describes the increasing violence in the fight between Spanish government forces and the ETA members during the 70's. Related mostly by a young Basque-American, it takes part in San Sebastian and Pamplona as well as the United States. It depicts not only the violence but also the love among people and the destruction both emotions can create.

Born in Spain, Rosa María Young left the country, after graduating as a teacher, in order to learn languages. She lived in France, England and Switzerland where she married and continue her wanderlust with her family. Canada the US and Germany became her home, though she always kept the interest in her birth country. She worked as a editor in several magazines and a proofreader for a national newspaper in the US, and as a language teacher in Germany and also the US.During all these years she wrote though she never published. She lives in France and as a retiree she now has the time and energy to dedicate herself to write.
