At age five, Dave Delgardo's family escaped the Los Angeles basin and moved north to Chico, California. He grew up near town on a five acre parcel fronted by a creek. In a 35-year career as both a classroom teacher and a school administrator, he served throughout Northern California, from the Gold Country and the Sierra to the Wine Country and the Redwoods.
